Use to drive the 2000 Legacy.. Maintenance was average, not sure if there are any changes… fuel consumption was not so good.. but I guess it really depends on how you drive lah…
But basically it was a good car, reliable, stable, didn’t have any problems the few years I had it…
Maybe someone who has the newer model can give better comment.. I also backside itchy thinking of changing…

Hi Rat,
I hv bin driving the legacy 2.0R for 2 weeks now. Like it so far. Consumption is about 10 to 11km/L for now. Hopefully it improves further after the run-in. They hv maintenance package which is also not ex. (around $1100 for 2 years if I remember correctly).
Personally feel this car is very worth buying (at least for now) with AWD, good audio system with 13 speakers, comfortable seats, nice outlook, powerful. Only 2 minor things which I don't understand y Subaru designers left out: not auto-folding side mirrors and no sound while using remote to lock & unlock the car.
If you want, I can give you my agent's contact. She is not bad.

Hi Chris,
tested the Civic and liked it also but decided to go for Legacy b'cos after all, Civic's image is still a 1.6L car. N with the price tag for Civic 2.0, i feel it's more worth getting the Legacy.

1st of all, u need to check ur car specs. u can't change to something outside the specs cos' it will affect ur car. Then u hv to take note that by changing to a bigger size rim, it uses up more petrol, the tyre cost more etc.

Hi Guys,
I just bought a Subaru Legacy least than 6 months ago and the audio sound system CD player jammed inside. It spoiled my favorite original CD and the whole CD play cracked inside. This is beyond my control as the CD loader loads the CD by itself into the system and it jam inside while loading.
I sent to Motor Image and guess what, they said the the sound system doesn't carries any warranty. I confronted them that the car is barely 6 months old and even if I buy a car from P.I. the sound system will definitely comes with 12 months warranty. This is a Subaru new car and audio doesn't comes with warranty really surprises me! They told me that to change to a new set will cost $1,000 over, but they have a re-con set which will cost only $350. I do not have time to argue, but to go ahead to change the CD player. After changed, thinking through, WHERE THE HELL DO THEY GET THE RE-CON SET??????? Also thinking through, I am driving a new car but yet the audio is a RE-CON set!!!! And do not comes with warranty!!!!
This is totally deplorable!!!! Please help to spread this news for all new Subaru car buyer. If you are buying Legacy that comes with McIntosh Audio system, dont be too happy yet.

Hows the legacy R pickup compared to a civic 2.0l?Is it really that bad?
Have yet to try it out at the showroom. But it lacks cruise control and steering audio controls and HID.
But the looks of it really tempts me into changing to a Legacy R.

Is the legacy 2.0R really such gd buy? I've been pondering over this for quite awhile already since it's cheap. Am only worried about the 0-100 at 11.4secs and the FC.. Anyone who owns this car please advice..

I own a WRX and not a legacy, but wanted to post come comments:
The Legacy 2.0R is an executive car, so you shouldn't be too concerned about 0-100 of 11.4secs? If you'd like better speeds, then you should get the GT version? Then of course the price would be different :icon54:

Yea.. I think this is a good and classy executive sedan... Will really consider it. :icon10:
Who likes their car slow and "ah pek"? Definitely everyone will prefer their ride to as fast and comfortable as possible. :p Maybe I would consider saving the money from the GT and modding this 2.0.
