If you were to ask around in the Vertex Forum, they may know some as well. I just met them at Kallang Mac and there was a QQ with a mod front bumper and another with a full body kit. Stylo Mylo. I heard he cut his springs. Yup, his car does look lower.

haha, don't make me start my rumblings again. yes, i shld be driving t11, if they able to give it to me tat is. let's juz say i having some problems with my order. mine will be a cng driven one.

erm, if u did not choose the cng option for a5 (does it have a cng option?), then now u r on ur own. coz if u choose to have cng installed on a new car, govt giving u a 40% rebate off ur omv. so normally this rebate will go into covering the cost of the tank installation.

but once ur car is out without the cng, then the rebate no longer applicable to u. so u need to source ur own company to do cng tank installation. there are quite a few companies now doing it, price range from $3500 - $4000. it might be a long wait though as cng demand is rather high now. if u book now, most likely u can only send in ur car for cng conversion in june or july. but u need to check with vertex on this, whether they will still cover ur warranty after cng conversion. if u had chosen the cng option before ur car hits the road, they will still honour ur car's warranty since it's their supplier doing it. but now tat ur car is already out, the warranty issue might need some clarification. check with vertex to be sure.

but maybe u shld juz try driving ur a5 around first bah, see if u reali need the cng tank.

sunday morning i kena accident coz of steering failure. the steering can turn but the wheel never. i was damn lucky hit the curb in the road center. and veer off towards oncoming traffic.. no collision and no injury. neck slight sprain. thats all. it was a Chery A 168. sat only i service. i think we need to check a bit more when we take off the service. my power steeering was giving noisy some dull clanking noise. then they fix. but this happened the next day. bare drove 600 km.. sigh.. very shaky guyz.. cannot even sleep properly alway replay the accident when i close my eyes.

sunday morning i kena accident coz of steering failure. the steering can turn but the wheel never. i was damn lucky hit the curb in the road center. and veer off towards oncoming traffic.. no collision and no injury. neck slight sprain. thats all. it was a Chery A 168. sat only i service. i think we need to check a bit more when we take off the service. my power steeering was giving noisy some dull clanking noise. then they fix. but this happened the next day. bare drove 600 km.. sigh.. very shaky guyz.. cannot even sleep properly alway replay the accident when i close my eyes.

erm, there are thousand and one things tat can happen to a car. we are drivers, not mechanics. so we will never be able to check everything. the workshop guys are supposedly the experts right? so after the experts checked and serviced our cars shouldn't we have the peace of mind that all is ok? if not might as well give us a checklist and we serviced the car with them.

imo, this is no small matter. if traffic conditions were heavier the consequences will be much worse, even life threatening. yes, we can feedback and let the workshop know and hopefully they will learn. but their learning at our costs? costs in terms of money and possibly life?

i may be getting negative but my confidence with them is getting lower by the day.

Sorry about your accident but glad to know that you are not seriously hurt.

From your initial posts, you claim you are not at fault and it was the fault of the car steering mechanism.

If that were the case, your insurance should not be paying for it. The workshop insurance should be the one settling the bills.

If you feel that you are being treated unfairly, you should bring this up to CASE. Explain to them everything and I think they will advise you on the proper course of action.

bro, this is f****n serious. :mad: if the accident was caused by a mechanical fault, i dont c why u shld b asked to bear the cost. however, if it was caused by sloppy servicing, u shld consider exercising your rights by claiming punitive damages. u shld demand for a written explanation of the cause of the mechanical fault n a full report of the servicing that was carried out on your car prior to the accident. put everything in writing and cc to the executives at vertex n if necc. to those at chery prc too. anyway, i'm glad to know dat u did not suffer any grave injuries. peace.

granted tat the steering wheel issue is reflected in the service slip. He still need to prove tat the accident is caused by the steering wheel, and not other human element. That is the difficult part, I think.

bogemon, yes, you could put in a 3rd party gear box if ur mechanic say tat it is compatible. DUn think LTA will bother, but ur vertex warrantly sure gone one!! Speak to more mechanic to see how!!! Take Care!

as long as got write down steering got problem on servicing slip, then u got a case in ur favour mah. with that CASE can fight 4 u. anyway last time got case of driver against Vertex, after case settled, car no longer under Vertex warranty. so even if u don go back 2 them also no problem. check the threads, some1 got write link to all chery car parts catolouge. so can use that find similar parts ard Singapore.

if u decide to go for qq, do remember to get vertex to write down car delivery date. do not believe their 'asap', get a date confirmed on the sales agreement. never expected a authorised dealer to tell me the phrase PIs are famous for, 'we never commit to you the delivery date right? so just wait". i was stupid enough to believe them and left the date blank, so don't be like me.:icon28:

read threads posted by som who drive QQ, avg is abt 12 - 13 km/lt. dis is average fc. if u chose QQ mayb go 4 da AMT version or try da 1.1 ltr version. saw da QQ in da showroom, got da compartment for the airbags but i m told is not supplied (don kno if still is no supplied) u can ask da SE there. take ur time n don rush 2 buy on da spot.:icon52:

Bros i found out that the parts in malaysia are damn cheap. The gearbox is around 4200 ringgit.. hehehe singapore its around 6500 dollars.. HEHE.. good deal. Original gearbox. towing cost is around 250 dollars. Workshop is in permas jaya. i ve already towed my car there. the whole repair will cost me around 3k-4k.. HEHE.. Instead of 12k the bloody workshop chery people tell me. i think good deal. insuaraance cannot claim. Darn insuarance company UNCONTACTABLE.. can u beleive it.. CHANGE ALL insuarance to NTUC.. thats the best good service.. anyone want repair or anything or want to do check up on the car.. in JB reply to me boyz.. deals can be made.!

jus 2 say somting, mot ppl there don feel chery car is up 2 wat they wan. lotsa them got only bad tings 2 say there. but there car is also dam cheap compare 2 here n also they will b assembling chery cars there will also make da price lower still. somtimes better 2 shop 4 parts there as much cheaper

Hi Azman... if I remember correctly the name of the workshop is SL Tyres & it's at Desa Plentong (it's along the Pasir Gudang Highway. If you r driving to pasir gudang fr. JB, take a U turn at Seri Alam & make a turn after Caltex Petrol Station). You can call up Mr. Chan at 019-715 8115. He's a friendly & helpful guy

oh... forgot to mention... do check on the spare parts availability 1st as I understand Malaysia sells A160 & not A168 so better make sure.

Haha i know the place too. If you drive in from WLD causeway. den u hit the direction towards plaza pelangi. Keep a look out on your left, u will see CHERY sign board. But tts their sales outlet u have to turn left and go further down. I think is correct :)

Guyzz.. kk i did the full repair for my car after the damn accident.. now i m living in malaysia drive in out every single day lor.. hahaha.. well the car is doing fine.. just having trouble with the FC.. hmm.. well the whole cost is like this i break down for everything


Gearbox- S$1300 (ship from china 900 USD)
lower arm- RM 500 (estimate-250 sing)
shock absorber RM278 (+20 for trasport bring from KL i think)
take gearbox to JB workshop -RM 250
repair cost (bumper + side + repaint + gearbox installation+towchagers from SG to JB) -RM 1500

so everything around 3k la..

VERTEX told me the gearbox only 6k.. LOLZ

I ve already done about 3 k for the last month no problems still drive mostly at 100-130 km/h in JB.

i ll give u the workshop guyz hand phone.. he very cheap and good fellow knows english all.

MY CAR WAS AT HIS WORK SHOP FROM APRIL- NOVEMBER.. so can trust him..

Gearbox broken in half
lower arm bent totally
bumper left broken

the fog lamp right side hanging out
two rims left side totally bent

cost estimated-8k-12k sing dollars..

so i m ready to help anyone.. 91463269 is my number anything call me.. if anyone feeling kind of not trustworthy i ll personally call Mr. amin.. his workshop is in permas jaya.. he will even arrange for TOW truck if ur car cant move.

Hi Jenny, they used to meet at outside kallang Mac every Fri around 8pm to 10pm. Don't know do they still do that anymore. U can try driving there one friday, u won't missed them if they r there:goodluck08:...
