Hi fellow members,

really need some advice here. I am a new driver and a new father (got my license last week, baby last month) and thinking of getting Mazda 3 SP. The problem is I heard my friends telling me that Mazda acceleration is slow and the car seems to be too heavy. High fuel consumption and the turning of corners is not so smooth. The back seat is also too cramp. But the car boot is ok.

I cant decide whether to get Mazda 3 SP now. Lots of my friends suggest Honda Civic but the look of Mazda 3 is so cool both inside and outside.

Hey pal,

I just got a Mazda 3, 2 litre Sports Luxury.... Have you done any test drive? I think the pick up and acceleration is pretty good for the 2 litre car. Agree with you that Mazda 3 has a nicer design both interior and exterior. I was initially torn between Mazda 3 and Honda Civic but finally decided to get a Mazda coz I like the design and the sporty look....

At the end of the day, it is what you like that counts....

Hope you can make up your mind soon....

I am getting my car in Dec..... Looking very forward to it.....:icon7:

Yes I did..... the pick up for Mazda 3, 1.6 litre is alittle slower than Honda Civic 1.6...but dont forget, mazda 3 is cheaper than Honda.....so for 10k lesser, I will still settle for mazda....

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting the Mazda 3 1.6 ver. How long did u have to wait to get ur car? Izit better to get from the agent or authorized dealer? (in terms of financial packages, freebies, etc)

Thanks

I bgt the car in late Oct 06 and will be delivered 12 Dec 06 :icon52:

I got some freebies such as solar film, free additional servicing, shorter antenna... Mazda tie up with HSBC for insurance and if you take, additional $500 bucks off the car sale price...but HSBC insurance excess is higher than the rest of the insurance companies...

Thats about it....

If you want, I can introduce my agent to you... Nice lady and quite quick in decision making

Hi, I went for the test drive for the Mazda 3 1.6L and i agreed with you that the pick up is rather slow compare to 2L.

I do agree with you that Mazda 3 interior and exterior is cool compare to other car.

You have to remember that at the end of the day, you are going to drive this car almost everyday for the next 5 yrs at least. :p

.. Bought a brand new Mazda 6 SP from Mazda Motor McPherson and in less than 24 hours the vehicles side door light is not functioning, the free solar film directly at the angle of the driver's seat seems to have a bubble which is distracting the view and the headlights seems to form a shape of an oval area in which the centre area is not covered and cant be seen in darkness.

Spoken to Mazda people and they have shown no concern and its like very common issue to them to have this in the vehicles. Very dissapointed by it and also the vehicles interior seems to be coming out at one end near the door. I shall post the pics soon for everyone to realize the workmanship in Mazda doesnt seem to be good as before as I already have a Mazda Premacy which is working well for past 1 and 1/2 years and after purchasing this new second car of mine, I regret being Loyal to Mazda.

Went there once to get the car fixed and no one turned up to help for almost 40 minutes and no choice I had to leave with doing nothing to the car. Seems like either they have too many problems to handle or they just dont care after you buy the car.

Its not a frustration as myself being a salesman in different area of work, I can understand the situations but I feel sad to own a Mazda now.

Hi, I'm new here., Just bought my Mazda3 1.6SP white in colour. Will be delivering in Mid Apr...

Had also thought about whether to get the luxury version, but 3k more for 1 more air bag, leather steering wheel and auto air con does not seems a wise decision...

Caa1vin, Mazda has improved a lot ever since the launch of the single digit series. I am personally enjoying every moment driving my mazda 3sp. Pick up is okay, just need to apply a bit of technique. Cornering and driving feel is good as well. As for interior and exterior looks, I would say that it is unbeatable in the 1.6 category. My average FC is up to 11.5km/L, pretty decent.

Hi,

It is trur that Fuel comsumption can up to 11.5km/l? If so, it is really unbeatable for 1.6 car. Just went for a visit and test drive today. How to differentiate the single digit and old type of Mazda 3?
